“One
loyal friend is worth ten thousand relatives.” – Euripides
When I need advice or support, other than my wife,
there are three people I gravitate toward:
1) My
oldest brother Tim
2) My
best friend Jared
3) My
substitute mom Nancy
Two of those individuals above are friends and not
family members. For the most part, I think I agree with Euripedes. It is often
easier to seek out friends in times of crisis. In many cases, family members
are the cause of the crisis so you can’t reach out to them. The ancient Greek
playwright, author of poems and tragedies, appears to still have his finger on
the pulse of modern family dynamics with the 8th most popular quote
of 2018.
