THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE


"Thank you for your service." It's a simple sentence, but one we should say a lot more often. My wife and I got to say it to an appreciative Vietnam Vet last night. He sat at the table across from us at the restaurant, in his wheelchair. We used the sentence as a springboard to a conversation about our appreciation for the sacrifices of the US military. You can bet that when the subject of former Senator and Secretary of State John Kerry came up, this Vietnam Vet was plenty mad about Kerry's comment that American military personnel are dumb. He was furious, as were my wife and I. Our restaurant Vet was a nice man. A hero, too.
